Interventionists

Julie Haverstick - Math Interventionist
My name is Julie Haverstick. After 16 years in the classroom, this is my second year as the Math Coach and Interventionist. My job is to help support teachers in their professional development by promoting best math practices. I also work with students of all ability levels to gain confidence in math.
My family and I live right here in the Meadows, and I have two kids who also attend Soaring Hawk. It has been a great school for our family, and I love getting to know our community.
When I am not at school, I enjoy staying active, spending time with friends and family, and traveling. Our family also enjoys volunteering at our church and participating in global missions.
Chrisse Olsson - Literacy Interventionist
Hi! My name is Chrisse Olsson and I am so excited to be the RtI/Literacy Specialist at Soaring Hawk this year! I live in Castle Rock with my husband Shaun and our two mini Schnauzers Charlie and Chase. We have two daughters. Lexi is 26 and recently got married to our new son in law Fulton in Nashville this summer. Lauren is 25 and lives in Minneapolis where she works as a legal assistant. In my free time, I love golfing on a nine hole league, traveling, and enjoying the amazing beauty that Colorado has to offer. I've been a teacher and interventionist for 25 years and this will be my 5th year as a RtI/Literacy Interventionist in Douglas County. My passion is teaching students how to read and write. I look forward to meeting you this year at SHE!
My roles at SHE:
As a RtI/Literacy interventionist, I provide support to students and teachers in kindergarten through 6th grade. I collaborate with classroom teachers to identify and teach students struggling with reading and writing skills and strategies and am part of the Multi Tiered Systems of Support Team to help provide extra support and interventions for staff and students. I am specifically trained in literacy behaviors and development, as well as how their brain works to remember information. I provide support to students individually and in small groups. Lessons are designed to meet individual student needs and provide multiple opportunities for practice. I teach students using a systematic approach to literacy, building on what they already know.
