Illness Policy

Please read the following from the Parent Handbook regarding our illness policies:

The parent is the best judge of whether a child is well or not. Please take time to be sure your child is completely well before leaving home. It is the goal of our department to keep staff and students healthy.

Please adhere to these guidelines:

  • Flu or Flu-like Symptoms (fever, cough, sore throat): Child must stay home until fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing or other medications
  • Contagious Illnesses requiring medication: Child must stay home for 24 hours after being medicated
  • Vomiting: Child must stay home for 48 hours following the last episode of vomiting
  • Diarrhea: Child must stay home for 48 hours following the last episode of diarrhea

Please notify the school if your child has a contagious illness or will be absent. If a child becomes ill

at school, the parent will be called and will be expected to pick the child up from school.
