6th Grader Gives Back to Homeless Children

6th Grader Gives Back to Homeless Children

Soaring Hawk 6th Grader, Emma Bardell, was thinking about the holidays and the struggles that some young people face.  She thought about what it would be like to be homeless, seeing everyone else open gifts and enjoy the season.  Emma was determined to bring holiday cheer to some local children in need.

Emma got to work and created a list of things she wanted to collect to be given to children living in shelters.  She collected donations and created Blessing Bags filled with art supplies, sketch books, snacks, treats, little toys and even a stuffed animal!  The Douglas County Task Force praised Emma for her kindness and generosity when she went to deliver her bags just before the holidays.  Thank you, Emma, for caring about others and doing a project to make a positive impact on our community.
