Sixth Grade

We are so excited to teach your growing 6th graders this year and help prepare them for the next phase of their education! In our classes, 6th graders will learn not only how to calculate surface area, divide decimals, describe a story's central idea, form arguments  and everything in between, but they will also learn how to be respectful and productive community members. 6th grade will also visit International Towne and Stone Canyon outdoor Education to continue to grow and practice their positive character traits!

As I enter into my 8th year in education (6th year as a classroom teacher) I couldn’t be more excited to be at Soaring Hawk! When I am not at school, I enjoy getting outside with my family, cuddling with my golden retriever, Nova, or reading a good book. I was lucky enough to grow up in Wyoming and attend college in Montana. However, we love Colorado and all the beauty and fun it has to offer.

I am a Colorado Native and love my home state! Especially our Hockey team the Colorado Avalanche. I am a HUGE hockey fan. From Pre-K through High school I was in the Douglas County School District and went to college at The University of Colorado Denver. At home I have one doggy, 2 snakes, and 3 geckos! I am not only an animal nerd but I'm also a huge Harry Potter, Disney, AND Star Wars nerd. When I am not teaching I enjoy going to the gym, cooking and baking, and spending time with my loved ones!

I was born and raised in Rapid City, SD.  I am the youngest of four children.  After graduating from Montana State University with a B.S. in Elementary Education, I spent six years in the mid-west and ten years in Wyoming before settling in Parker in 2007.  I have two grown children; Tyler (28) and Laura (25).  I have been working in DCSD for 12 years.  The last two years I taught sixth grade math and science at Cherokee Trail Elementary in Parker.  I am so looking forward to teaching sixth grade at Soaring Hawk!
