Our Leadership

Principal Stacey Roberson

My name is Stacey Roberson and as the principal of Soaring Hawk Elementary School, I would like to welcome you to our SHE community. This year will mark my 20th year in education and my 5th year at Soaring Hawk.  In my career, I have taught 3rd and 5th grade and worked as an Assistant Principal at Castle Rock Middle School before joining the Soaring Hawk staff as the assistant principal.

I live in Castle Rock, and you may see me with my wife, middle school son, high school son, or the family dog enjoying many of the activities that the town has to offer.

I’m delighted to lead Soaring Hawk, and am committed to making sure your child is welcomed, accepted, and is challenged academically.  In my experience, when our children are acknowledged and feel they are a part of our school, they accomplish much more socially and academically.

Assistant Principal Janelle Ranford

Greetings, Soaring Hawk Families and Friends!  My name is Janelle Ranford, and I am the very grateful and oh-so-proud Assistant Principal here at SHE! :)

My personal journey in education began 20 years ago in St. Louis, where I first served as a middle school math and reading teacher in a large urban school district.  Since then, I’ve been privileged to teach several different configurations of Grades 4-6 in Indiana, Texas, and Colorado, as well as serve as a Science Instructional Coach for K-6 elementary teachers at both the district and university levels.

My husband and I found our way to Colorado (finally!) five years ago, and it was love at first sight the minute I saw our beautiful school. Looking back on my time since joining the SHE staff in 2014, I am beyond amazed that I’ve had the chance to be a Grades 4-6 classroom teacher, an instructional specialist, and an Assistant Principal all in the same wonderful place. I feel truly at home at Soaring Hawk; I love our Mission, our Vision, our staff, and our students. We work hard, we have fun together, and we collaborate intentionally to build a learning community where everyone is both accepted and challenged to reach their personal best.

In my time away from school, my husband Philip and I enjoy hiking and camping in the mountains, as well as traveling to multiple National Parks. I’m also an avid reader, and I like to bake sweet treats to share with others whenever I can. I dabble at playing the piano, enjoy live theatre, and like to watch both football and ice hockey from the comfort of my couch at home. Finally, I can’t pass up any chance to watch a beautiful sunset, whether it’s stretching across the mountains, the desert, the plains, or the water.

Many who know me well describe me as a “teacher to the core.” Education IS my passion, and I’m so lucky that Soaring Hawk is where I get to live that out with incredible kids and families, every day.

Welcome to all, and I look forward to meeting and working with you as part of our Soaring Hawk Crew!
