Second Grade

Welcome to 2nd grade! We are so excited to have your child in our classes this year! 2nd grade has so many fun filled events. The kids really get to dive into different communities, habitats, pollination and pollinators this year! We can't wait to see how much your child will grow this year!

Welcome to a new school year! I am so excited to be working with you and your child!  I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself and inform you about a few details in 2nd grade.

My name is Stephanie Amella, and I feel so fortunate to be a part of the SHE family for my 6th year! Overall this will be my 22nd year teaching! I have taught 14 years in 1st grade and this will be my 8th year teaching 2nd grade. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Colorado State University of Pueblo in 2001 and my Masters in Curriculum and Design from Grand Canyon University in 2005.

I have been happily married for 19 years to my husband Gary and we have a 16 year old son named Gavin and a 13 year old daughter named Aiven. Aiven will be an 8th grader attending Castle Rock Middle School. Gavin will be a sophomore at Castle View High School.  I love spending time with my family. We spend a lot of time traveling throughout the Nation in the Summer to watch my son and daughter compete in the U.S. Kids Golf Tour, AJGA, CGA and PGAjr tournaments. My entire family including myself love to play golf. We also keep very active with tennis, volleyball, baseball, and football.  When I am not busy cheering on my kiddos in their sports, I love cheering on the Denver Broncos...hopefully we will have an awesome season this year!

Wulf family

I am a wife, mother of three amazing sons, and grandma (“Mimi”) to our beautiful almost two year old granddaughter. We have another granddaughter on the way, due in October! I am also a TEACHER (from a long line of teachers, many family members including my mom and both grandmothers, and my grandfather was a professor of chemistry at Texas A & M University). I have a degree in business from the University of Colorado and a master’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Phoenix. This will be my 14th year teaching at Soaring Hawk. I LOVE this community of families, and the staff at SHE is like family!

My husband and I live in Parker in the home where we raised our three sons, who are all graduates of Douglas County Schools. We are all crazy about the outdoors, hiking/biking/camping/skiing/snowboarding, and generally “playing” together whenever we can! Your child will soon find out I also love to sing!

Some of my other passions are our national parks, the mountains, sunrises/sets, flowers, TREES, and animals of ALL KINDS (wolves are my favorite, of course). And, children are my favorite humans!

  Yvette Wieter Wieter

My name is Yvette Wieter and I am thrilled to be your child’s second grade teacher at Soaring Hawk Elementary. I am excited to help your child grow academically and personally. I have been a teacher for fifteen years. I  have taught many grades (first, second, and fourth) and I have substituted in kindergarten through eighth grade. I have an Elementary Education degree with middle school endorsements in Biological Science, Social Science, and Language Arts.  My family and I moved here several years ago from Illinois.  (Yes, we are Chicago fans!)  I have three children (18, 16 ½, and 13) and two dogs (both are Boxers). In my spare time, I like to spend time with my family and dogs, hike, read, bake, ride my bike, play pickleball, and watch my kids play sports (soccer and track).  This summer, I went to California and did a roller coaster/beach vacation. I also went white water rafting at the Royal Gorge and was able to cross these adventures off my bucket list.  My oldest son is leaving for Colorado Mesa University in August and I am having many mixed emotions about this next phase of his life and mine.
