The Colorado Low-income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP) is a federally funded program that helps eligible hard-working Colorado families, seniors and individuals pay a portion of their winter home heating costs. Our goal is to help bring warmth, comfort and safety to your home and family by assisting with heating costs.

The Weekend Backpack Program provides children with a backpack filled with nutritious child-friendly foods for them to take home on the weekends, when they might otherwise go hungry. The program is designed to allow students to get assistance without drawing any attention to themselves by using backpacks, which look like any other student's backpack. A person or family can apply anytime for Food Assistance. Your income from employment, self-employment, child support, unemployment, Pensions, Social Security, Social Security Disability, Supplemental Security income, or rental income all count toward being eligible to receive assistance. Basic eligibility is calculated on the gross monthly income received before taxes have been deducted.
